Global Water Foundation
The Global Water Foundation is trying to improve the quality of life for people around the world by bringing a source of clean water and sanitation to those who desperately need it.
The Global Water Foundation is a grant-making and educational foundation; its defining characteristics are --
- To raise funds to support new ideas: technologically, managerial, governance related and implementation driven;
- To raise funds and encourage creativity which can be supported by local ownership, original solutions, hinging on solid sustainability principles;
- To raise funds to encourage ideas and develop products which are sufficiently new, practical and useful so that it can be successfully adopted and used to improve water and sanitation provision;
- To raise funds for the supply of technical assistance to support the implementation of water and sanitation projects - this includes humanitarian assistance where water and sanitation environments have been compromised;
- To raise funds for the development and technical refinement of governance systems, procedures and policies to enhance accountability so that donors would support proposed government water and PPP initiatives;
- To raise funds for R&D activities in the water and sanitation sector technology;
- To raise funds for the establishment and support of the water and sanitation SMME sectors;
- To raise funds to support individuals and organisations to attend international water and sanitation-related conferences and symposia in a quest to spread access to knowledge and new ideas;
- To collaborate and network with national and international water and sanitation organisations and assist them with funding specific initiatives;
- To promote water and sanitation promotional and communications programmes, nationally and internationally;
- To ensure that results of all innovations and new approaches are shared world-wide through collaboration with other international networking and communication channels;
- To produce a newsletter and extension material available on the internet and linked to international water and sanitation networking sites;
- To promote nationally and internationally the Foundation's work through all available media.
- To develop short, medium and long-term strategies to promote the work of the Foundation;
- To develop water and sanitation awareness programmes in the global community;
- To support community water usage, hygiene and hygiene programmes and courses for conservation of water usage and better health development;
- To promote gender equality in water gathering and to bring awareness of women's plight and work towards breaking down the current gender stereotyping;
- To develop scholarship programmes which encourage women to further their studies in water or sanitation areas
Eagleton Ferreira Tennis Academy
John Eagleton and his former student Ellis Ferreira, a 2- Time Grand Slam Doubles winner welcome you to join them for the Summer at their Academy which stresses a “ hands on “ approach to developing tennis players. Learn the modern style of playing tennis that is being used on the 2 Pro Tours, Train to master strategic concepts and then Execute them in real match situations. Ages 7-18, for children who want to maximize their playing ability. Summer program is available for both overnight (Sun- Sat), at the Cedars Tennis Resort, or tennis only (Mon – Fri)
Missing Links Golf Academy
Missing Link Junior Academy offers golf programs for juniors of all ages. It is the goal at Missing Link to prepare golfers in all areas of the game. Missing Link instructors have more than twenty years experience in training the best junior golfers in the country, more than 20 AJGA All Americans and players from the PGA tour on down.
As there are many different levels of golfers, all players are equally challenged for maximum improvement. Missing Link does not focus solely on swing mechanics; instead it is just a link in the chain to better golf. From putting to chipping to pre-shot routine all areas will be covered and trained on a regular basis. Using the latest swing technology players can see and watch their games improve. Missing Link does not believe in the golf factory mentality. Every week is planned based on the individual players schedule and immediate needs.
At Missing Link Golf Academy classes are offered to juniors of all ages to participate in educational week long programs. All Aspects of the game are covered. The week will start on the range with state of the art video analysis. Students and parents receive a customized video summarizing the areas that have been worked on via e-mail. This tool is used to keep parents informed but to also be used as a reminder what to work on in the future. As well as technical work on the full swing, short game is covered extensively throughout the week, from putting and chipping all the way through the sand game. Students will all receive drills tailored specifically for them, aiding in their learning experience. Students also receive on course analysis coupled with course management skills and decision making skills to shave strokes immediately. At the end of the week students will participate in a tournament that we hold for our students that attended that week. It is the goal of Missing Link to have our students work hard but also walk away with a memorable experience.
